Changing Ends, the heartwarming series that follows the formative years of beloved comedian Alan Carr, returns for a second season. Oliver Savell plays Young Alan as he navigates the challenges of growing up with an eccentric personality and a love for performing in a world dominated by lower league football. With misplaced affections from his best friend Kay, discovering his sexuality, and his father’s promotion at Northampton Town FC threatening their bond, this season promises more laughter and heartfelt moments as Alan’s journey of self-discovery continues.
1920 has teamed up again with Baby Cow Productions for the second season of Changing Ends, working on 20 shots across six episodes to contribute to the visual splendour of the show. We breathed life into football matches by adding crowds in the background, comped a 2D bird element in a view through binoculars as young Alan investigates his neighbours, and augmented a cinema facade to transport viewers to a bygone era. Additionally, we enhanced a vital school disco scene by integrating our FX vomit with the existing SFX, enriching the show’s visual storytelling.
